Irish parade foundation announces winners


MYSTIC — The Mystic Irish Parade Foundation has announced the award winners of this year’s parade, held March 23. Award trophies were presented to the following winning participants on Sunday, March 30, at 4 p.m., at the Harp and Hound in downtown Mystic.

• Best Irish Theme Float: Mystic Boathouse

• Best Bagpipe Band: New London Firefighters Pipes & Drums

• Best Bagpipe Band: Mystic Highland Pipe Band

• Best Color Guard: Bridgeport Police Department Honor Guard

• Best Antique Vehicle: Groton Long Point Volunteer Fire Department

• Best Youth Group: Sacred Heart School

• Best Community Group: Boys and Girls Club of Southeastern Connecticut

• Best Fire Department Unit: Westerly Fire Department

• Best Law Enforcement Unit: Connecticut State Police and Emerald Society Color Guard
