WATERFORD — Rich Nye of Stonington won the X-Car feature Wednesday night at Waterford Speedbowl.
Nye took advantage of a good starting point to pull out front on lap three of the 25-lap race.
Nye led as the division’s heavy hitters moved in behind, but held off all challenges in a race slowed by four caution flags. Nye got away from his competition each time and powered to the win.
Zach Thomas of New London was second, Eric Finkbein Jr. of East Hartford was third and Westerly’s Randy Johnston was fifth. Nineteen drivers completed the race.
Coming into the race, Thomas (468), Johnston (435) and Nye (423) were leading the X-Car point standings.
