  • Wheeler roundup: Lions fall to Lancers

NORTH STONINGTON — Zoe Robert scored two goals for Wheeler High in Thursday’s 15-3 ECC Small Division loss to Waterford.

Robert upped her season goal total to 17 and Madison Jones scored her seventh of the season to account for the other Lion score.

Waterford (9-6 overall, 7-3 ECC-Small) led 9-1 by the half and outscored the Lions (0-14, 0-10) 6-2 in the second period.

Wheeler goalie Carolyn Pabst made 18 saves.

The Lions look to avoid a winless season today at home against Bacon Academy in the final regular-season game at 4 p.m.
